Effects of inefficient use of electricity

     Electricity consumption is not efficient, intelligent and productive will reduce the natural resources in the production of energy such as oil , gas , coal .     Fossil fuels are found in the earth 's crude oil , natural gas and coal formed about 150 to 300 million years ago. Over recent decades , the resources have been used at a rate so fast compared to the rate it replaced naturally. The resource utilization rate now is 20 times faster than the century.    Burning fossil sources for electricity generation will produce gases such as carbon dioxide , carbon monoxide , nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide as well as particulate and toxic metal that can cause environmental pollution and damage to health and comfort if the situation is not under control. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse effect that causes global warming . Long and excessive exposure to the haze can cause health problems. These gases also dissolve in rainwater and make acid rain. If acid rain enters rivers or lakes can destroy aquatic organisms. All the negative effects of fuel consumption , if not controlled , will have a serious effect on our lives and will eventually destroy civilization on planet earth .
Sources of electrical energy

  Electrical energy can be produced through a variety of means and resources. There are various types of generating plants such as gas turbine plant , plant steam turbine and diesel plants that use fossil fuels like oil , gas or coal as fuel. Electricity can also be generated by hydro power, wind , tidal, nuclear , solar radiation and other sources. The energy source used for electricity generation should be easily available , cheap and convenient and do not pose a danger or threat to life and the environment.
     In Malaysia, the electricity is generated by fossil fuel sources such as oil , natural gas , coal, and hydropower . At present, approximately 60 percent of electricity generated by natural resources . The rest use other resources such as oil , coal and hydropower .
     Reserves of natural gas in the country is believed to cover the needs for a period of up to 50-60 years, if its use is controlled by them, as petroleum is also expected to meet the requirements for a period of 20-30 years. Other than that , we do not have a lot of coal resources .
     In the meantime, almost all hydro power , which is a source of renewable energy , in Peninsular Malaysia have been used although there is much more potential for hydropower in Sabah and Sarawak unexplored, the cost of building hydropower stations in the interior as well as the cost of electricity transmission from Sabah or Sarawak from Peninsular Malaysia is too high .
The importance of electrical energy

   Electrical energy is a vital necessity in life. Every day we use electrical appliances. In a well-developed world, we are increasingly reliant on energy sources to perform daily activities. The importance of electrical energy and its uses are too numerous to mention.
  The use of electrical equipment can improve the quality of our lives while increasing their well-being and quality of life.


   To ensure that the needs of power electricity is always adequate and continuous and at a reasonable price, we need to use electricity efficiently, intelligent, and proactive.

   In hope we are all concerned and aware of the role and the responsibility to save fossil energy resources are dwindling and help preserve the environment for future generations.
The history of the discovery of electricity

     The ancient Greeks and Parthians know about an electric static by rubbing things with wool. Although scientific exploration of this phenomenon started in Renaissance Europe, the electricity is only used in magic tricks and games, until the discovery of a deeper made ​​at the end of the 18th century until the mid-19th century.

  •    Electric potential (often referred to as voltage) - potential energy per unit charge associated with a static electric field.
  •    Electric current - movement or flow of electrically charged particles.
  •    Electric fields - fields that are all around charged objects. When there are other charged objects in the field, the field will exert a force on the object.
  •    Electrical energy - energy that was created by the flow of electric charge through an electrical conductor.
  •    Electric power - the rate of conversion of electrical energy to or from other forms of energy, such as light, heat or mechanical energy (exchange).
  •    Electric charge - the fundamental nature of conserved at some subatomic particles, which determines the electromagnetic interaction. Electrically charged matter is influenced by, and can produce an electric field.
What is electricity


Electricity is a general term for a number of phenomena that result from the availability and flow of electric charge. Together with magnetism, it forms the basis of interaction known as electromagnetism. It covers most of the physical phenomena that are commonly found as lightning, electric fields and electric currents. Electricity is also used in industrial fields such as electronics and electric power.
